hat Delhi's most glitzy suburb is fast becoming a cradle for criminals is evident from the manner in which MNC executive Deepak Mendiratta was allegedly kidnapped by unknown persons couple of days ago.
Thirty-two-year-old Deepak - who worked for a manpower consultancy firm in Gurgaon.- went missing on Thursday under mysterious circumstances.
His half-burnt car, a Honda City, was found on the Delhi-Gurgaon highway on Friday morning.
While police have registered a case of abduction, they say there's no evidence to suggest that Deepak was indeed kidnapped.
They also claim there's nothing to suggest that Deepak could have been hurt.
The Mendiratta family hasn't received any ransom call so far and Deepak's wife Shelly is holding on to hope that he'll be back soon.
“Anyone who has information about Deepak, please get to the police whosoever has kept Deepak. Please release him, he has a family waiting,” she appealed across news channels.
Gurgaon saw eight robberies last weekend, almost all of them in high-security areas.
Not surprisingly, this has become a big security concern for several top multi-national companies who have their offices in Gurgaon.
In fact, IBM Global Services has issued an advisory to its executives on travelling in the suburb, following a carjacking outside its office.
